May Happenings

Not much news to report here--we've had a very full and fun month of enjoying the warmer weather with lots of outdoor activities and playing with friends. Here are some assorted pictures. You'll probably notice that at some point, without any warning, Alison has turned into a little girl and has left babyhood behind!

Sidenote: As I write this, she is in her bed practicing how to pronounce "yellow," which she just realized today does not actually sound like "lellow."

Swinging with Daddy after lunch during his midday break

Wyatt and Avery had a 3-day slumber party with us in late April!
That visit deserves its own post, which will appear soon.
On one of the mornings, Dan spent 2.5 hours with all 3 kids
by himself! Apparently Avery found interesting ways to
amuse herself...

Walking to lunch with Maisie, each with her own bag of cereal

Therapy session with Dr. Wyatt on the playground

Walking home and picking flowers on a day
when she finally agreed to a ponytail

Watching Julia open her birthday presents at Fe's house

Hula hooping with Amanda

Climbing bike racks with Katie

Setting up the stomp rocket
(which Mommy broke soon after this)

Big recent achievement: being able to ride her
tricycle pretty long distances with an occasional push

Playing hide and seek with Samantha--
it must've been the mommies' turn to hide!

Sweet goodbye hug at the end of a fun playdate

Kisses from a Daddy on his way to school

Recent dance class--the Four Musketeers:
Maisie, Amanda, Alison & Wyatt

Admiring King Wyatt's crown

Are they actually listening to directions?!

A beautiful day for a walk to lunch with CC, Maisie & Leo

A new scooter from Halmony & Grandpa!!
How did they know I am obsessed with these?!

Lining up the bears with Samantha
(yup, that's a girl who likes order...)

An excited group on their way to...
CLOWN TOWN!!

Driving the truck with Matt

These were her first carnival rides, and she loved them!

Driving the car up and down with Katie

All those months of practicing "driving the wheel"
are really paying off!

She liked all the carnival games and prizes too

Hmm, the form looks ok, but where's the ball?!

She used up 3 game tickets and about 45 minutes on this
impossible fishing game, and finally caught one by
using 2 rods at once

She could've stayed there all day

I wonder if one day these guys will get tired of us
always following them around and move somewhere
far away like...the midwest!

Wyatt and Alison were psyched to ride these motorbikes
until 2 other kids climbed onto the front seats.
Who knew they were built for 2 riders?!

Alison's first day with pigtails, thanks to Katie!

Look how big and mobile Abby is now!

Running around the flagpole never gets old.

Neither do orange peel smiles.

It's about time The Bus made an appearance on the blog!
This vehicle has been the source of much fun and laughter,
as well as much angst, competitiveness and tears.
It was not allowed to be a part of the aforementioned
Slumber Party.

Walking Daddy to his class and watching Mr. Hoenig
draw on the board

Sheila and Jeff gave us this unbelievable gift of a
raised vegetable garden this summer!! Jeff built it
with a protective cover with chicken wire that goes over it
and sits on hinges. He is a genius.

Alison loved planting the seeds and then watering it.
With any luck we'll have long beans, swiss chard, mesclun, carrots, and
cherry tomatoes to eat this summer!
(Seedlings are already visible today after less than a week!)
