April Showers

It's finally starting to feel like spring!! We had a fun month filled with outdoor adventures, and we're psyched to start our favorite 6-7 months of every year.

The other day Alison and I walked downtown to the library for Storytime, and treated ourselves to juice and a glazed donut on the way back. She of course only wanted to lick all of the glaze off and discarded the actual donut, but it distracted her enough to get up the hill home. She loved this bear family outside the library.

On the way to the library, she found an acorn top and wanted to save it, but having no pockets, she decided to place it on a branch stump of this tree. On the way back, of course I had forgotten all about it, but after we passed the tree she suddenly yelled out, "Wait!" and ran back to find the acorn. Toddlers blow me away with what they remember...

On Easter Sunday, we visited Fe and Julia after church and Julia, the budding photographer, took one of all of us:

And we took some in our driveway:

Alison and Wyatt took a gym class together recently at Ready, Set Go! and had a blast! Here's the chivalrous Wyatt helping Alison balance.

We also went to an Easter parade at a nearby senior center. All the kids paraded down the hall and received candy from the seniors, who were so sweet to them!

After the parade, Alison enjoyed counting her treats with Wyatt...

...but when Avery entered the scene, Alison's no fool and kept her bag safe and out of reach.

There's been a lot of swinging on the "big swings" lately. Every time I push them higher, it scares me to death, but so far so good.

On the way home the other day, she and Wyatt gave us a performance on this outdoor stage--lots of singing and dancing!

And then Dan actually had a random day off, so we went to Plum Island with some friends and hung out on the beach.

Here's a picture of a bunch of her friends from a recent party at Carly's house:

And a couple cute pictures from the flagpole outside the dining hall:

Last week we went to Ingaldsby Farm for the first time this year with Joanna and Anja to eat yummy muffins, see some animals, and play in the sand. Anja's getting so big! Not many people would wear a tutu to a farm, but I think she really makes it work. :)

Hiding is one of her favorite activities. Whenever we're about to go upstairs at night or downstairs in the morning, she immediately rushes ahead to hide in her closet, behind the guest bed, behind her glider, in some alcove, under the dining room table, or behind the towels hanging in the bathroom (with just her legs and feet showing).

That's the face of a girl who's up to something:

Her friend from school, Samantha, invited her to an Easter egg hunt at her house, and it was so much fun! Her family hid eggs all over her big backyard, and the kids seemed unfazed by the rain.

Lastly, here is a video of Wyatt helping Alison along the obstacle course at the gym:
