Here are a few shots from our day at Crane's Beach. It was the perfect last beach day of the summer. The water was warm enough to swim in, it was not crowded at all, and the kids were great.
These shots remind us how lucky we are to live on a school campus with so many little people around to play with (and so many other parents to co-parent with!). This is from an end-of-summer BBQ:
We made a return visit to Ingaldsby Farm to feed the goats again, pick more raspberries, and eat the best muffins around. Here Alison is eating most of the raspberries Victor worked so hard to pick...
After school started up again, we hit the Children's Museum in Boston for the first time, thanks to our friends Natalie, Wyatt and Avery. It was so fun because it wasn't crowded at all so we had our run of the place.
This scene cracked me up. She was trying so hard to be patient and wait for this little girl to be done with the wheel. She never said anything, but it's written all over her face. In the first picture, she's trying to give her space. By the second picture, she had gotten the girl's attention with her stare, was running out of patience, and went for the direct stare down.

At the town's annual Art in the Park event, she had fun playing hide and seek around the park with Wyatt and Thomas (here they have just found Wyatt, who was cleverly hiding behind the tree):

I like taking pictures as we're walking to dinner sometimes...I guess it makes me feel like I'm doing something slightly productive with the hours and hours we spend walking to and from the dining hall:

She likes to tap the posts while we count them a la The Count from Sesame Street.

For some reason she likes to run up to this brick wall in front of our house and just stand by it. Yet another reason why it takes us forever to get to dinner.
Once we make it to the dining hall, there are rituals there as well. First, putting the cups and plates on the belt and watching it travel a long distance through the kitchen.
Then, she enjoys fastening the straps on all the high chairs,
just to make lives of the parents of future users a tad more challenging:

If you look very closely, you'll see Alison running out
to say hi to Daddy during his x-country team's warmup.
She's finally warmed up to the idea of wearing hats.
Too late for sun hats, but just in time for winter ones.
This one's too small, but she doesn't seem to care.

We had a lot of fun at Minh Khue's house last week, playing with her watering can, sandbox, car, and other toys:

This moment was pretty funny, but probably in a
"you had to be there" sort of way. I'll attempt an explanation:
Alison has a really funny-looking fake smile that she pulls out whenever I have a camera and say, "Smile!" Well, Minh Khue had apparently never seen anything more creepy and frightening in her life than this smile.
In the first picture, they are both responding to my "Smile!" In the second picture, Minh Khue is covering her eyes and begging Alison to "Stop it!! Aaaaahhhh!!" I had already switched to saying "Laugh!" to save her too many nightmares, so that's why the smile has morphed to laughter, but Minh Khue wasn't taking any chances.

Here she's enjoying a good movie while
snuggling with her beloved Kitty Cat.

The mystery is solved. I couldn't understand why those buckles were always fastened... And the picture of Minh Khue hiding her face is absolutely hilarious! Great blogging, Leah.
Impressive documentation- I love that you even got the belt at the dining hall captured! Although I don't think Wyatt received credit for teaching her to swing at the top of the slide! :)
